Cornelius & Anthony The Cornelius in Robusto 5×52 (first edition of this cigar will no longer be available in 2019) Aged 2 years 11 months
Keysville Virginia, 150 years ago, Cornelius Bailey started farming tobacco. In the early 1990’s the 4th and 5th generation of Baileys started a cigarette company using the leaves from their farm. A few years ago Steven Bailey, who has always enjoyed a fine cigar, got it in his head to make the finest cigar he possibly could. He named the cigar after his Great, Great, Great grandfather Cornelius. On the farm they call this the “Davidoff Killer”. Priced ultra premium but still less than Davidoff, the brand is making a huge splash in the cigar community with extremely high scoring cigar offerings. Oh, and guess what…the cigar is rolled at El Titan De Bronze! It’s got an Ecuadorian wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and long fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Tasting Notes: Theres a graham cracker and must note on the shaft, more must on the foot. The cold draw is even more must and some sweetness with a pinch of salt on the tongue. Once lit, the palate is met with graham cracker, almond, white pepper and more of a musty note at times. There are slight pungent notes that blend with amaretto and white toast flavors. The smoke is fluffy and leaves a salt like finish. The cigar is luxurious for sure. Leather and baker’s spices are also present in the ending parts of this wonderful cigar.
Pairing Notes: Wheated bourbon, champagne, pilsner beer, seafood, white chocolate or cheesecake.
