Robusto- 5 1/2×52
The latest release in the New World Series provides a journey inspired by one of the world’s greatest tobacco-growing regions. The all Nicaraguan blend is mostly from AJ Fernandez’ Dorado farm, which he aptly named due to its golden texture and taste. The Dorado is the fifth release of the New World brand, which was started by AJ Fernandez and his father Isamel.

Strange/bland flavor profile. Not great, not terrible, just don’t get much out of it. Had a Toro at my local B&M, and was not impressed in the least, didn’t finish it. Being an AJ fan, I bought a box of Figurado’s, thinking his best bunchero’s and Torcedor’s would be working these, and maybe I got a dud with the toro. Well, not really, just don’t get much out of this cigar, and not sure how it fits in his portfolio.

The first third starts off with a blast of chilli heat, I’m getting a little black pepper but the chilli is at the forefront.
10 minutes in and the heat has toned down. I’m now getting cinnamon and a charred popocorn flavour.
The 2nd third drops all of the spice. I’m getting a vanilla and coffee note with hints of cherry through the draw.
The final third has a very creamy smoke. I pick up notes of earth as the cigar burns to the nub
