Indiana Ortez

6 x 50 / Toro / 400 Made

Indiana Ortez, daughter of Omar Ortez, tobacco legacy and budding young star of the cigar blending world. She's just got something about her. Indiana recently left home for the first time in her life to manage the factory of Casa Favilli, formerly Mambacho. She has been around tobacco since a child. Growing, fermenting, and rolling since she can remember. If this cigar is an example of her style we are in for a lifetime of amazing blends from this young woman. Short on words, big on smiles, and with a real passion for tobacco, Indiana is part of the next generation of cigar makers.

In the first third, I am met with chocolates, lemon, peat, dried fruits, and the spice of paprika. Further in the peat turns to charred woods, the dried fruits turn to candied orange, and the chocolates sway to a vanilla wafer. There is still some lemon on the finish. There are other notes I cannot quite pinpoint.

In the second third, lemon is still dancing on the tongue along with cocoa powder, hints of the candied orange, paprika, and the twang of a good peach pie. There are also notes that make me feel like I'm having a raspberry tea.
