Well folks, this costume had to be covered up. Yes, we all know I take certain liberties when parodying characters we know and love. It most certainly is up for debate how grey of an area this is. Bottom line, it was fun while it lasted. Going forward we will have a few things like this not Tony project. I call them the sharpie series and these WILL become a collectible someday, so get one to ash and one to stash of everything you see like this. So, apparently the jealousy certain parts of the cigar industry have for us has boiled over and created action. There are about 5 players I have been tipped off to. 3 of them are other retailers. 2 of them are cigar websites. I have had no contact with 4 out of the 5 but it does not matter. I’m here to find us all the best cigars on the planet and I will be stopped by no one. But after the 3rd cease and desist letter from a major corporation, we decided to play it safe and cover up any potential legal matters. So there ya have it folks. This most certainly, is not Tony. Aged a year and wrapped in a gorgeous Dominican Habano wrapper, Not Tony is bound in HVA leaf and filled with some of the finest tobaccos DR has to offer, and just a pinch of Peru. The key thing to know about this wrapper is that it spent a few months fermenting in a proprietary manner that really brings the sugars to the outside of the wrapper. I have asked Jochy 3 times how and why that wrapper is so sweet, and if it is sugar-coated, and he gives me his word as a master blender that it is strictly a natural process. Not Tony reminds me of another cigar Jochy made for us, but a tad bit spicier. Some costumes were meant to be covered up.

Description

Tasting Notes: Off the body, I get a yeasty bread and fresh glazed donuts. Off the foot, I get dried fruit, mulch, leather, and Raisin Bran cereal. The cold draw gives me apricot, prunes, more bran type cereal, wheat bread and leather. There is also a noticeable natural cane sugar sweetness on the lips. The first few puffs gives me flavors of cinnamon sugar, yeasty wheat bread, Raisin Bran cereal, dark plum, black pepper and sweet almonds. The smoke is a velvety medium-bodied with a touch of earthy pepper grittiness. Retrohale brings out more cinnamon, natural cane sugar, roasted pecan, black pepper and cedar. That remarkable sugar sweetness still lingers long on the lips after each draw, fantastic! The draw flavor really starts to remind me of Krispy Kreme donuts about an inch or so in, and is damn near just as sweet. Sweetened breakfast cereal moves in as the middle third begins, along with delicious notes that sometimes reminds me of yeasty cinnamon rolls, sometimes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Sugar-coated almonds are also there on the draw, with a rich retrohale of breakfast pastry, white pepper, caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg. In the final third there is a change in the nut flavors, more of an emphasis on walnut now. Getting some pungent dry earth, savory rosemary, musty cedarwood, lime zest, subtle honey sweetness, salty peanuts, and shredded wheat. Lots of musty and nutty notes on the retrohale with white pepper, charred cedar, cardamom, almond, pecan and sweet natural tobacco. Awesome flavors, great draw, and spot-on construction, and just the right amount of strength. An excellent way to start my day!

Pairing Notes: Morning coffee with cream, cappuccino, caramel latte, green tea or chai spice tea, after breakfast pastries like cinnamon rolls, Danish or donuts. Bourbon, anything with pumpkin spice, be that muffins, pie, coffee drinks etc. After any sweet breakfast cereal.

Just smoked the one from the October box. Very interesting stick. I was amazed at the flavors. Completely made me think of corn flakes and the sweetened milk at the end of a bowl of a certain cereal “that will remain unnamed”. Needed to buy a few more!

This thing was awesome. Easily one of my favorite cigars I have smoked. The sweetness and creaminess of the flavors reminded me of cocoa puffs at times and a chocolate swirled sourdough bread at others. I also had it with some black coffee that had some citrus flavors in it that seemed to amp up the sweetness and breakfast cigar vibes. Just an awesome experience through and through.
