Privada Spirits: Tequila

Privada Spirits. We created the idea for Privada Spirits well over 2 years ago. We realized very early on that people love cigars and spirits but they rarely did it right or understood how to pair the two together at all. So we came up with a fool proof plan for knowing what spirit goes with what cigar. Even if you do not drink alcoholic beverages, these cigars are all fantastic on their own. To create the cigars we submitted our idea for Privada Spirits to 6 different factories. In the end, Tabacalera Perla, the same manufacturer that makes our beloved Paul Stulac, outperformed all. These cigars are all natural and use natural fermentation and blending to achieve the clear flavor notes that are hard to achieve. Each one is as good as the next and each cigar on its own, released by a boutique brand, would be touted as a must try stick. How we came up with all 5 of these in one line of cigars is beyond me and a testament to the power of the Privada movement. #wearefamily #wearetheindustry #weareprivada

Description

Body: Sweet hay.
Foot: Sweet hay and rich tobacco.
Cold Draw: Apricot, sweet hay, almond.

Tasting Notes: In the first third we start out true to the tasting notes on the band, sugar, lime and creme brulee. It’s sweet in a simple syrup kind of way. It’s got the lime citrus or tang. And it also has this beautiful charred cream and vanilla that is just wonderful. Sweet, fruity, creamy and a dash of white pepper, what else could one ask for? When I hear people say they do not like Connecticut shade it just lets me know they have not had the right cigar yet.

In the second third I get a wonderful flavor addition by way of fresh cut cedar. The charred cream or creme brulee is in full effect and could not be nicer. The lime still tings the tongue and the sugar is still there. I also see traditional notes of hay, almond and nougat. Very impressed.

In the final third of this wonderful Connecticut shade I get a dark white toast and phantom flavors of Indian spices. Fresh cut cedar and citrus tang round this out while cream, sugar and fresh baked bread take us home.

Pairing Notes: Tequila. Lime club soda. Salt and vinegar chips. Light and sweet coffee. Banana bread. Mango or lime sorbet. Caramel tea.
