This was a 2 year aged cigar when we originally released it in the club in September 2021. So what we have now is a 3 year aged cigar that has spent the last 3 months in freshly emptied bourbon barrels. The process was documented on our YouTube page so if you have not seen it, check it out. This process of bourbon barrel or even barrel aging cigars is brand new. No one else has done it this way. Most companies that use the term barrel aged are simply fermenting tobacco or portions of the tobacco to be used in a cigar and then airing them out before using them in a blend. I cannot find evidence of anyone else doing this, let alone for 10,000 cigars. I understand why, too. It can be problematic and extremely time consuming. The barrels must be checked often. The humidity is near impossible to regulate and the aroma could destroy certain cigars. But this is what makes us Privada. We now have more experience in post production cigar aging than any other company in the world with the exception of a few cigar banks in Europe. Body: Wet Bourbon Barrel, Rich Chocolate and an artificial berry aroma.
Foot: Fresh Dumped Bourbon Barrel.
Cold Draw: Vanilla and Bourbon soaked oak.

Tasting Notes: In the first third it is OMG-chocolate, chocolate and chocolate. I’m getting the artificial berry flavor similar to Capn’ Berry Crunch Cereal (for my cereal heads out there) and a great deal of oak. White pepper dances in the creamiest smoke you have ever tasted and leaves a slight lemon note on the finish along with charred woods.

In the second third the flavors are still the same and I am glad because I don’t want them to change- berries, chocolate and oak. Who wants transitions when the flavors are this good? Meanwhile the lemon comes and goes and cinnamon is introduced. The cream smoke makes this thing a real treat.

In the final third things begin to change. I get notes of charred oak, dried dark fruits like cranberries and cherries and cinnamon continues to make its way into the mix, but in a bigger way. The creamy, vanilla blasts of smoke along with some black pepper finish this unbelievable cigar out. This is a truly exquisite smoking experience.

Pairing Notes: Vanilla soda. Bourbon. Hersheys Kiss. Capn Crunch Berry about 2 hours prior. Vanilla anything. Chocolate anything. Egg Cream Soda.
