You ask, we provide.  A few people in our Facebook group recently mentioned that they had nostalgia for the days of old.  When Privada was brand new and we used to get a lot of people’s leftovers.  It was mostly things that no one paid for that had sat around a factory, or things that got lost.  The truth is we still get some of this stuff but I have to 1. Put new bands on them for legal purposes and 2. Make sure that I give you enough information on the cigar to help you understand what it is, but not enough incriminating facts that the brand will find out about it.  Why is this so sensitive?  Because brands spend millions of dollars with factories each year and if they find out the factory sold their stuff, they may not come back.  It’s a fine balance because factories also have to move product and they certainly cannot sit on things for 10 years without losing money.  And that’s why I paid an arm and a leg for this cigar.  Like I said: when you talk, I listen.  I’m in pursuit of the best cigars in the world but I cannot continue that hunt without all of you.  So, if I have to pick up a cigar every month or every other month that will satisfy the Indiana Jones in some of you, even if I don’t love the cigar, I will oblige.  So here it is, the king of Dominican cigars.  The company starts with a D.  It has many brands.  I believe this one starts with an A.  It is aged over 10 years at this point.  Factory aged in DR.  I’m not saying I don’t like this cigar, I’m simply saying I could easily make something better than this, but it won’t have the age and the story… so here it is… Classique! A 10 year aged Dominican cigar with an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper.  The king of classic blends.  Why would this be sitting around for 10 years?  Well, take a look at that wrapper… it’s not the golden color you expect a Connecticut to be.  It probably did not color match and got put to the side and forgotten about.  This concludes another legendary find by the Privada Cigar Hunter Squad!
