“Undercrown Shade” marks the first release blended by Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera not to fall under the Herrera Estelí brand family. These smokes feature an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Sumatran binder, as well as Dominican Criollo 98 and Nicaraguan Criollo & Corojo fillers.

The first third has a touch of white pepper on Light up. I’m getting notes of grass, hay and cedar, the texture of the smoke is very creamy. After 10 mins a nutty flavour develops, like a peanut but the creaminess of the smoke turns it into a peanut butter taste.
The 2nd third has a flavour transition, a sweetness has crept in and I’m getting notes of honey and bread.
The final third has a citrus note coming in, a lemon note has developed. I’m not getting any of the sweetness anymore.
Not your typical connecticut, lots of flavour. A great smoke.
