(1 customer review)

Annuity (Toro) – 6×52

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua and Dominican Republic

Herman Upmann was a financier in Europe who started his own brand in Cuba in the 1800s.  The Banker is named after Herman’s profession preceding his entrance into the cigar industry.  Notes of coffee and spice emerge from this medium-bodied cigar.

The tale of H. Upmann The Banker dates back to 1844, when the founders of the H. Upmann brand, who were German bankers, crafted a distinctive cigar as gifts for their esteemed clientele.

Fast forward to 2014, Altadis embarked on a mission to recreate the original blend, employing an Ecuador Havana wrapper, a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder, and meticulously aged Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. The result is H. Upmann The Banker, a medium-bodied cigar with captivating notes of robust coffee and spice.

I didn’t know what to expect with this stick but I was very surprised. Its a smooth smoke, with a light hint of spice. The sweetness stays with me to the next puff.
