Description
Skip Martin, co-founder of RoMa Craft, wanted to create a memorable cigar to mark his 50th birthday. He also wanted to challenge himself by working with Dominican tobacco. So, he asked legendary cigar maker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo if could help him. Ernesto agreed and the two embarked on a two-year journey to develop the blend for this cigar.
This blend consists of a dark tan Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed Maduro wrapper covering a Dominican Republic binder and filler. The cigars aged for one year before shipping to allow the flavors of the tobacco to marry. The cigar not only celebrates Martin’s birthday, but also marks the first time RoMa Craft has created a cigar in the Dominican Republic. This cigar is handmade in the Dominican Republic at the famed Tabacalera La Alianza S.A., which is owned and operated by Perez-Carrillo.
This is a medium-strength cigar with a complexity that includes spicy, earthy, and coffee notes with an underlying creaminess.
