Description
Body: Sweet hay, honey and barnyard.
Foot: Sweet hay and fresh picked blackberry.
Cold Draw: Musty forest, pine, cedar and grapefruit rind.
Tasting Notes: In the first third I am met with an aged cedar found in refrigerated aging rooms across the globe. I get notes that remind me of canned peaches. Which brings me to the light syrupy smoke and sweetness. I get the mustiness that has been the signature of the blender for ages. I get a black pepper on the retro, and a white pepper on the palate. This is what I have come to expect from the blender as well.
In the second third I get a pine tree note. It is complimented by citrus in the finish. I also started to get dried fruits and white pepper, cream and root flavors like a real root beer.
In the final third the mustiness dies down and the cedar kicks back up. I pick up notes of berries and peaches in the nuances. The smoke is divine. This is a nuanced and balanced Dominican cigar that is a similar experience to some of the limited edition white label cigars people used to go nuts over. We are blessed to have this man and this factory in our corner.
Pairing Notes: SCOTCH. Scotch and Scotch. Non alcoholic choices are root beer or cream soda. Do not eat within one hour of smoking this cigar.
