Body: Graham cracker, honey, birch root.
Foot: Roasted hazelnut.
Cold Draw: Nutella hazelnut and chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Upon lighting, I am greeted with hazelnut, black pepper, cream, cedar, and baking spices. The retrohale is black pepper. I am reminded of a menthol coolness at times as well as French toast with syrup. Further in I pick up salted peanuts.
In the second third, caramel bursts through in the form of flavor and sweetness. The smoke is creamy and slightly spicy. This is what I call a juicy cigar. It’s sweet, rich, and bursts with flavors. The Nutella is still there and so are the salted peanuts but the black pepper has become white pepper.
The final third reminds me of chocolate-covered peanuts. I still get the Nutella at times as well along with white pepper, juicy creamy smoke, simple syrup sweetness, caramel flavors, and depth, and a whole lot of wow.
Pairing Notes: Payday candy bar. Nutella. Chocolate. Roasted hazelnuts. Scotch.
