Before I go into the story behind this cigar, I just want you to know that you, all of you, made this possible. Whether they admit it or not, Warped was a company who was reluctant to work with us in the past. But over the years, they watched you take to social media, take to your cigar lounges and tell everyone you know about us. This made companies who were once reluctant go all in. #weareamovement. And who can blame a brand for being careful about who they collaborate with, let alone give an exclusive cigar to, right? But here we are, our 4th year in business and we have our very own Cloud Hopper by Warped Cigars in an exclusive size of 6×46. For those of you who do not know about Warped, it was founded by a teenage prodigy named Kyle Gellis. Kyle became interested in cigars and went down to Miami to learn how to blend cigars at the one factory that would have him, El Titan De Bronze. After years of experience and countless days and nights spent at Aganorsa Farm in Nicaragua, where this cigar was made, Kyle is now the owner of a very well respected brand. Kyle is a renaissance man and an unstoppable entrepreneur with whom I hope to do much more business. This 6×46 blend dons a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan Corojo 99 and Corojo 98 fillers, all from Aganorsa. It is a Nicaraguan Puro and an Aganorsa Leaf Puro. This is one of the first cigars we have had in the club this year that did not have at least 9 months of age on it. As it stands, it has about 6 months of age. While I know age will do this stick good, it’s ready to smoke now. It is also a delicate and nuanced Nicaraguan puro so I wanted to smoke it fresh. I recommend smoking this as your first cigar of the day in a cool place after a good meal.

Tasting Notes: The body is wood, nutmeg, baker’s spice, and cola. On the foot, I’m getting mixed nuts and milk chocolate. Cold draw is mixed nuts, black peppercorns, milk chocolate, and florals. Salt, pistachio, oregano, slight sweet syrup, aged oak, earth and black pepper. Egg cream texture, like chocolate egg cream. Pistachio. Wow. Toasty. Retro is cream and white pepper with pine tree notes. I’m also getting more sugar on the tongue and more cream on the palate along with vanilla root, the vanilla is more rootlike, like natural vanilla, not artificial flavor. Sugar cane and pine, or trees or forest greens. Creamy, sweet, becoming slightly fruity and with a crisp bite, not pepper but a bite which is very unique. I’m also tasting phantom flavors of red apple. Scratch apple. Aged oak. Violet florals. Retro is the same but there’s a fruitiness now. In the second third, I get sweet pistachio, sugar, aged oak, cream. There is a fruity zing that reminds me of dried fruits like raspberry, and the retro has become a little bit more black pepper now. Cola is here. Sugary too. Toasty oak, sweet, cream, dried fruits, white pepper, really nice. Florals and woods. The final third is super florals. The woods are prevalent, the smoke is still creamy, and the sweetness has intensified and almost zips the tongue. I got a little bit of roasted nuts and a lot of satisfaction. Phenomenal Cigar.

Pairing Notes: Coca-Cola. Rum and Coke. Apples. Sugar cane. Rum. Chocolate tea. Light roast coffee, lite, and sweet. Dark chocolate. Spanish red wine. Lightly toasted bread with butter, cinnamon, and sugar or a good churro. Apple juice. Caramel. Piña colada. Coconut anything. Whipped cream. Grilled chicken with citrus. Salad with vinaigrette.
