Privada Storytelling
Three cigars. Three different tobaccos. One completely different way to experience a blend.
The 1-2-3 Culebra started with an idea that challenges traditional cigar construction.
What if you could separate the three essential elements of a cigar, wrapper, binder, and filler, and experience what each one brings to the table?
That's exactly what Privada Cigar Club set out to explore.
Working with Raul Lanuza, Privada created a unique tri-color culebra that takes three distinct tobacco components and brings them together in one braided presentation.
Each strand tells a different part of the story.
The dark strand features ultra-fermented Nicaraguan Cameroon Negro, representing the wrapper and its contribution of richness and depth.
The medium strand highlights Condega tobacco, demonstrating the structure and balance traditionally provided by the binder.
The light strand incorporates Peruvian tobacco, focusing on the filler and its aromatic character.
Then all three are twisted together.
The result is something that looks unlike almost anything else in the humidor.
And at 6 x 46 per strand, this isn't your typical culebra.
It's larger, more substantial, and designed to offer more than one way to experience the tobacco.
Smoke the strands individually to explore their differences, or experience them together in their braided form.
Three separate expressions.
One shared idea.
A cigar that turns the art of blending into something you can actually experience.
Flavor Journey
The 1-2-3 Culebra offers a different kind of flavor exploration.
Instead of focusing only on how one blend changes from the first third to the final third, this cigar invites smokers to discover how different tobacco components contribute to the overall experience.
The Dark Strand
Ultra-fermented Nicaraguan Cameroon Negro represents the wrapper component. Its role is to showcase richness and depth, highlighting the influence that wrapper tobacco can have on a cigar's overall character.
The Medium Strand
Condega tobacco represents the binder. This strand focuses on structure and balance, offering an opportunity to explore a component that often receives less attention than the wrapper or filler.
The Light Strand
Peruvian tobacco represents the filler component, emphasizing the aromatic qualities and underlying tobacco character that help define a blend.
Together, the three strands create an opportunity to explore how these elements relate to one another.
Whether enjoyed separately or in their braided presentation, the experience is built around discovering the individual contributions that make cigar blending possible.
Why It Belongs in Privada
This is exactly the kind of experiment Privada was created to bring to its members.
Not simply another cigar with a different band.
Something that challenges the way we think about tobacco.
Most cigar smokers understand that a cigar contains a wrapper, binder, and filler. But how often do they get the opportunity to explore those components in such a direct and unusual way?
The 1-2-3 Culebra takes that familiar concept and turns it into a smoking experience.
It brings attention to the role of each tobacco, the craftsmanship involved in combining them, and the creativity that makes cigar blending an art.
It also represents the willingness to take an established format and do something entirely different with it.
A tri-color braided construction. Three distinct tobacco expressions. An oversized 6 x 46 format handcrafted by Raul Lanuza.
This isn't just about smoking a culebra.
It's about understanding what goes into creating a cigar.
And experiencing something you don't come across every day.
Production Notes
The 1-2-3 Culebra was created by Privada Cigar Club and handcrafted by Raul Lanuza in Nicaragua.

Each strand represents a different structural element of cigar blending.
The dark strand showcases ultra-fermented Nicaraguan Cameroon Negro, highlighting the richness and depth associated with the wrapper component.
The medium strand uses Condega tobacco to represent the binder's contribution to structure and balance.
The light strand incorporates Peruvian tobacco, emphasizing the filler component and its aromatic qualities.
Unlike smaller traditional culebras, this release uses a larger 6 x 46 format for each individual cigar.
