Privada Storytelling
Some Privada releases are serious from the start.
Buckets de Pepe is not one of them.
Presented in Privada’s unmistakable 10-count bucket format, this release brings back the playful spirit that made the original bucket cigars so memorable. Behind the unusual packaging, however, is a carefully made and patiently aged Nicaraguan cigar.
Buckets de Pepe was rolled at Tabacalera Montenegro by Hector Luis Prieto Diaz using tobacco grown entirely in Estelí. The blend combines a Maduro Hybrid wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos, creating a rich profile built around sweetness, depth, and balance.
After rolling, the cigars were allowed to mature for three years before release. That time softened the sharper edges of the tobacco and allowed the darker flavors to come together into a smoother, more refined expression.
The bucket may be fun.

Flavor Journey
The opening brings dark chocolate, cedar, and toasted nuts with a soft layer of cream underneath. The Maduro Hybrid wrapper introduces sweetness early while the Estelí tobaccos provide earth and structure.
Through the middle, baking spice and dark fruit begin to develop, adding complexity without overpowering the cigar’s smooth character. The three years of aging are most noticeable here, giving the smoke a rounded texture and allowing each flavor to transition naturally.
The final third becomes deeper and sweeter, finishing with dark chocolate, cedar, spice, and a lingering apricot-like sweetness.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Buckets de Pepe captures both sides of Privada.
It is playful, unusual, and instantly recognizable, but it is also built around real tobacco, careful blending, and proper aging. The release does not take itself too seriously, yet the cigar delivers the kind of depth and refinement collectors expect from a limited Privada project.

Produced at Tabacalera Montenegro by Hector Luis Prieto Diaz using tobacco grown in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend features a Maduro Hybrid wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos.
