Privada Storytelling
The Montecristo Espada Guard is more than a cigar — it’s history rolled in leaf. When Montecristo launched the Espada line, it was a bold first: a 100% Nicaraguan puro blended in collaboration with the legendary Plasencia family. Espada, meaning “sword,” symbolizes both power and precision, and the Guard vitola is its perfect representation.
This 6 × 50 Toro captures the depth of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos, each leaf carefully selected from vintage crops and aged to peak refinement. It’s a cigar that balances strength with sophistication — bold enough to stand tall, yet nuanced enough to remind you why Montecristo has been a global standard for nearly a century.
Flavor Journey
The first third opens with cedar and roasted nuts, layered over a peppery foundation. As the burn evens out, leather and earth join cocoa and a subtle sweetness, creating a refined balance. In the final third, the Ometepe leaf asserts itself — volcanic richness with pepper and spice, leaving a bold, memorable finish.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Privada celebrates cigars that fuse heritage with innovation, and the Espada Guard embodies that mission. It is Montecristo reimagined through the lens of Nicaraguan terroir, honoring tradition while exploring new soil. The Guard belongs in Privada because it’s a rare collaboration that delivers authenticity, history, and boldness in one vitola.
