Over three years ago, Noel Rojas himself arrived at my house with 10,000 Bluebonnets and 10,000 KSG Reds, both rolled exclusively for Privada in this elegant Lonsdale vitola. While the Red has since made its way into other humidors and even received a stellar 92 rating, the Bluebonnets remained in our coolers—resting, evolving, and waiting for the right moment.
For over two years, Noel asked me monthly when I would release them. And each time, I held them back. Why? Because at Privada, we do not just release cigars—we perfect them. We age, monitor, and nurture them with the same care that collectors give to their most prized bottles of wine or whiskey. First Third: Toasted sesame seed, creamy oak, golden cereal grain, and Italian herbs with a delicate dried peach on the finish. Retrohale delivers black pepper, dried currant, and oak.
Second Third: Oak takes the lead, joined by semi-sweet apricot jam, white toast, minerality, and white pepper. The retrohale bursts with blackberry and pepper, gradually maturing into a fruit-forward richness.
Final Third: Raspberry, butterscotch, wheat toast, lemon candy, and black tea with honey make for an indulgent, balanced finish. Retrohale shifts to powdery white pepper with lemon-zinger brightness over oak.
