Privada Storytelling
When Reinier Lorenzo and I set out to collaborate, the goal was simple: show the profound influence of the wrapper while keeping the heart of the blend the same. The result is The Reinier Lorenzo Masterpiece — a study in flavor, skill, and tradition that invites Privada and LCA members to discover how one change can create a world of difference.
This release marks a milestone for Reinier. Born in Cuba and now rooted in Nicaragua, he has established himself as one of the most talented blenders of his generation. His years with Aganorsa sharpened his mastery, and now, with his own factory, he is writing a new chapter. This Habano-wrapped masterpiece is a nod to classic Cuban style — elegant, powerful, and full of tradition — while also hinting at the exciting innovations Reinier has in store for the future.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Sweet cedar and cream dominate the opening, accented with hay, black pepper, red pepper, and a surprising Tabasco-like spice. Notes of vanilla barrel and dried basil begin to layer in complexity.
-
Second Third: The body evolves into salty umami, cedar, and toasted wheat crust. Creamy smoke coats the palate with hints of ginger snap and vanilla, creating a warm and comforting middle act.
-
Final Third: The finish builds toward sweet dried pear, peach, and oak with a touch of cedar. A fruity tang reminiscent of golden raisins emerges, lifted by citrus and softened pepper, leaving a balanced, harmonious close.
