The AJ Fernandez Scrooge Aged 2+ Years is our quarterly nod to the lancero lovers out there, but this one carries a special weight. Crafted by the youngest-ever recipient of Cigar Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award, AJ Fernandez himself, this cigar shows why Nicaragua has claimed its throne as the modern cigar capital. The band art takes a nostalgic turn, reminding us of illustrated tales from childhood—ironic, given this cigar is anything but child’s play. It’s bold, deeply satisfying, and designed for the evening: the close of a long day, a hearty meal behind you, and a good whiskey in hand. This is the cigar you light when you want a moment to feel bigger than life, a reminder that tobacco is not just plant and paper—it’s story, memory, and mastery rolled together. Flavor Journey First Third: Opens with a surprising spicy honey note, accented by graham cracker sweetness, red pepper bite, apricot tang, and a hint of sesame seed oil. The retrohale pushes black pepper with a faint charcoal-like peatiness. Second Third: Cream and cedar dominate now, with mocha sliding in to enrich the texture. Red pepper remains persistent, balanced by apricot’s sharp fruitiness. A finish of cinnamon heat—like fireball candy—adds a playful kick. Final Third: Apricot resurfaces, entwined with black pepper, cream, and aged cedar. The profile closes with a deep, satisfying “cedar room” flavor, unique and unforgettable, like walking into a perfectly seasoned aging room. Why It Belongs in Privada Scrooge is more than a lancero—it’s proof of AJ Fernandez’s artistry, a window into the core of what makes Nicaraguan tobacco so revered worldwide. Aged two years to achieve perfect balance, it carries strength, sweetness, spice, and soul in every puff. This is the type of cigar that turns casual smokers into collectors and seasoned aficionados into believers.

Espinosa Cigars Hialeah Gardens Limited Edition Aged 4+ Years
Espinosa Cigars Hialeah Gardens Limited Edition Aged 4+ Years Size: 6×52 ToroVitola: ToroWrapper: Undisclosed (Espinosa LE Selection)Binder: UndisclosedFillers: NicaraguanFlavor Notes: Bourbon oak, barnyard funk, ripe tobacco, maple syrup, milk chocolate, red pepper, toast, wheat, citrus “Sprite” zing, Fruit Loops, graham cracker, fennel, honeysuckle, vanilla, saltPairing Notes: Hershey’s chocolate kisses, butterscotch, cinnamon crumb cake, Fruit Loops, graham crackers, red wine, cognac, bourbon, scotch (non-smoky), Werther’s Originals, root beer, espresso with sugarManufacturer: Espinosa Cigars (La Zona Factory, Estelí Nicaragua) Privada Storytelling The Espinosa Hialeah Gardens Limited Edition is more than just a cigar—it’s a recognition of the truth. For years, we’ve seen cigar names tied to Havana, Cuba, and old-world romanticism. But the reality is different. In modern America, the heart of the cigar trade flows through Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, and Doral, Florida. If you’ve ever ordered cigars, chances are they’ve passed through this Cuban-American enclave before they reached your hands. When Privada’s Brian posed the question to Erik Espinosa—“Why doesn’t anyone call their cigar the Hialeah?”—Erik laughed. Then he rolled up his sleeves and did it. This blend is a love letter to the area that represents the modern cigar epicenter, where the Cuban spirit thrives outside Havana, built on grit, family, and tradition. Espinosa himself embodies the story: a tough, stout Cuban from the streets who turned passion and hard work into a multi-million-dollar cigar empire. The Hialeah Gardens LE is not just about heritage—it’s about truth becoming tradition. And this cigar, aged 4+ years, delivers that truth in every puff. Flavor Journey First Third: Opens with deep oak, red pepper, toast, wheat, and a citrus zing (“Sprite”). Smoke is creamy, retrohale blasts black pepper, and phantom Fruit Loops cereal sweetness appears. Notes of leather, cereal grain, and maple syrup richness add depth. Second Third: Evolves with tobacco richness, leather, fruity zing, oak, graham cracker, and fennel spice. Creaminess ties it together, balancing sweet, tart, and savory. Retrohale remains peppery with a clean cereal finish. Final Third: Closes with honeysuckle, toast, dank oak, vanilla, and salt. Pepper fades to a salty zing, while wheat and florals create a creamy, clean finish. Balanced and elegant, it feels like a culmination of aged, harmonized tobaccos. Why It Belongs in Privada This cigar belongs in Privada because it tells a story of modern cigar reality. While Cuba gets all the romance, Hialeah Gardens is the true lifeblood of today’s cigar industry. This limited edition is a nod to that, crafted by one of Miami’s own, Erik Espinosa. It’s rare, aged, and bold enough to carry the name of the city where the cigar world truly converges.

Stulac Colaboración Aged 3+ Years
Stulac Colaboración Aged 3+ Years Size: 5×54Vitola: Box-Pressed RobustoWrapper: Barrel-Aged Nicaraguan HabanoBinder: ChileFillers: Ometepe, Jalapa, EstelíFlavor Notes: Mahogany, apple slice, cream, black and red pepper, cedar, oak, cinnamonPairing Notes: Fresh apple, bourbon, Canadian whiskey, steak, apricot or apple cinnamon tea, apple pieManufacturer: Paul Stulac at Tabacalera Perla (Nicaragua) Privada Storytelling The story of Paul Stulac is the story of revival. A Canadian-born blender with an artistic streak, Paul once stood at the edge of walking away from the cigar industry entirely. His brand had been overlooked, his efforts dismissed. That is, until Privada stepped in and introduced the club to his Red Screaming Sun Lancero, which changed everything. From that moment forward, Paul became woven into the fabric of the Privada family. The Colaboración was born out of that renewed spirit. Years ago, Paul traveled to Nicaragua, working with Tabacalera Perla and sourcing tobacco from one of the most famous cigar houses in the world—though they’d never admit to supplying it. He blended this cigar with patience, aging it meticulously before handing it over to Privada. We then held it for over a year using the Privada Method, letting the blend mature until the moment of perfect ripeness. What you hold now is not just another cigar; it’s a testament to persistence, partnership, and passion—the Paul Stulac way. Flavor Journey First Third: Opens with mahogany richness, a sweet apple slice, cream, and black and red pepper. A syrupy sweetness lingers while the retrohale brings a black pepper umami kick that sets the tone for complexity. Second Third: Woodiness sharpens as mahogany turns to cedar, the apple note becomes tarter, and the sweetness mellows. Cream persists, while cinnamon enters to create balance. Final Third: The apple returns alongside cedar and oak, with black pepper reasserting itself. Creamy smoke carries a cinnamon finish, rounding out a flavorful and satisfying close. Why It Belongs in Privada Paul Stulac is as much a part of Privada as any blender we’ve ever worked with. The Colaboración represents the synergy between our club’s relentless pursuit of aged perfection and Paul’s artistry as a blender. It’s a cigar that nearly didn’t exist—rescued by belief, aged with patience, and elevated through trust. This is exactly the kind of cigar that defines Privada’s mission: uncovering hidden brilliance and sharing it with the world.
